Founded in 1996 from pioneering research at the Center for Optics Manufacturing (COM) at the University of Rochester, QED Technologies has deep roots in Rochester, NY—long recognized as the optics capital of the world. The company pioneered Magnetorheological Finishing (MRF) in Rochester and later expanded its technology portfolio with Subaperture Stitching Interferometry (SSI), all developed and supported from its Rochester headquarters. QED Technologies serves as the global hub for engineering, service, and R&D, delivering integrated polishing, metrology, and manufacturing solutions that enable precision optics manufacturers to achieve higher precision, faster convergence to specification, and greater confidence in the most demanding applications.

Delft, Netherlands
QED Technologies Europe, based in Delft, Netherlands, is best known for its NMF technology, delivering fast, non-contact form metrology with nanometer-level accuracy for aspheres and freeform optics. The team combines expertise in mechatronics, software and controls, mechanical, and optical engineering to develop new products, enhance existing platforms, and bring designs from concept to production. Supported by a highly focused operations team, systems are fully assembled, tested, and qualified with an emphasis on quality and consistency. Sales and service engineers work closely with customers to understand application needs, deliver tailored solutions across the QED Technologies portfolio, and ensure reliable installation, support, and long-term system performance.
